Sheikh Zayed Palace Museum, also known as the Al Ain Palace Museum is an establishment situated in the city of Al Ain, within Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The museum is located in the royal palace of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan (the former president if UAE) and his family.
The museum was primarily built in the year 1910 on the western side of the Al Ain Oasis. It is the largest oasis in the city of Al Aim. The former president Sheikh Zayed resides here until the year 1966. In 1998 with suitable permissions, the establishment was transformed into a museum.
It consists of several rooms in the palace and an art gallery. A lot of rooms are Majlis, meaning meeting rooms for receiving visitors. There are several courts. One of the courts consists of a replica of a grand court tent representing an association with the Bedouin life. Besides these attractions, the museum houses a Land Rover like the one Sheikh Zayed used to drive in the deserts to meet the Bedouin communities.
The museum is a popular tourist destination, as it is a place, where you can feel the royalty the Sheik lived in. Many artifacts are well preserved and tourists catch a glimpse of the history of United Arab Emirates through them.
