Submerging yourself into the exotic undersea waters of Sharjah at this aquarium is an experience that will remain etched in your memory forever. The walk-through aquarium holds a humongous variety of over 250 marine species. This variety encompasses almost everything from the smallest clown fishes to the seahorses, moray eels and the reef sharks. Because the settings of the aquarium have been designed so, the aquatic animals get a feel of being in their natural habitat at this place. You can take an underwater walk to see fishes swimming over your head in a water tank.
Sharjah Aquarium was established in 2008 at the Al Khan Old area. Spread over 6500 square meters and comprising of two floors, this place is the largest government learning center in the entire UAE. There is a total of 20 aquariums here and each of them has about 1.8 million liters of water. The place remains closed on Sundays and the timings on Fridays are different than other days. It is better to confirm the timings as well as the price for tickets before you visit. And do remember that photography is not allowed inside the aquarium.
